Home cooked meals beyond walls; Meals That Heals Ministries, Inc and Sensational Southern Cuisine have been on assignment for the last year providing meals filled with the taste of southern cooking the way your grandma used to do it. In addition, the love and anointed hands that prepare each meal and praying over each individual meal to deliver make the assignment humbling, anchored in gratitude, with love and peace moving us forward from location to location. The thirteen months from February 15, 2024 until March 21, 2025 have been totally unbelievable. God has begun a new thing with this movement in Southeast Raleigh to bring awareness of our brothers and sisters who need a helping hand extended with love and that lacks judgment.
Each meal idea is designed to bring the feeling of a four-wall dwelling to the unhoused in our community. Sunday dinner at best, with each third Thursday (now Friday) of the month with hopes of feeding at least 100 (initially a minimum of 33) people with each month that comes. Meal plans and choices are made as if it were in fact Sunday dinner, or a family reunion, or sister-cousins 40th birthday celebration. Every meal is not complete if it doesn't have an entree, two sides, a piece of bread, a dessert and a beverage or water.
God provides for His people, and we are all His children. It is, however, our decision to align our lives with His initial and sole purpose for our lives. That is to serve Him, to love and be kind to our brother and sister, and to add value to the lives of others who may lack the full understanding of their worth in the earth.
